2014 SUMMER RESIDENCY GUIDELINES


All participants will commit to full attendance for all days (August 11 to 24, departing on August 25). If a participant cannot ensure 100% attendance, the place must be relinquished to a candidate on the waiting list.


HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS AND MEALS


The Summer Composition Institute covers all hotel accommodations during the residency.


From Monday, August 11 to Saturday, August 16 (five nights)

Concord's Colonial Inn, Concord, Massachusetts

Double Occupancy


Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner provided

From Saturday, August 16 to Saturday, August 25 (nine nights)

Irving House at Harvard, Cambridge, Massachusetts

Double or Triple Occupancy


Breakfast only (provided by the Irving House)

Lunch and Dinner, not provided

List of local eateries made available. Some group dining may be organized.


TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION


All participants are responsible for their travel and travel costs to and from the summer residency, including travel to and from Concord and Cambridge, Massachusetts. (Drivers to Concord and to Cambridge may become available, especially for international travelers. We will keep participants informed if this opportunity arises.)


DEADLINES AND TUITION


The postmark deadline for applications is November 15, 2013.

The jury committee's announcement of acceptance (via email notification) takes place December 20, 2013.

A binding, signed acceptance from the student participant and non-refundable payment in full are due January 3, 2014.

The deadline for scores and parts is June 15, 2014 (strict) submitted to Talea Ensemble offices. 


The cost of attending the Summer Composition Institute is $750. This includes room and partial board (see Hotel Accommodations and Meals).
